Studying Mathematics in college I had no clue I would be in advertising one day. My passion was theatre and I was part of the college theatre group, which led to a short career later doing Saturday Night specials in a hotel. Eventually storytelling and drama led me to advertising and I was smitten.
Twenty odd years later, after working across India, the Middle East and South East Asia, my passion for storytelling has not only grown, but with the merging of digital and traditional media, it’s found new expressions.
I’ve been fortunate to have my work recognised by Cannes, Effies, AMES, D&AD, The One Show, CLIO Awards, Spikes Asia and The Global Awards, and recently the prestigious Lions Innovation award and the coveted Product Design award for the Life Saving Dot.
Besides work the thing that excites me most is being able to share my learning with young creative minds through workshops and lectures at award shows like Spikes, D&AD and the 4As in Singapore.
A dream I’m pursuing is to be able to create interactive modules online that will help newbies understand and navigate the complex world of communication.
I’ve had the honour of judging at Cannes, AdFest, D&AD, Spikes, Effies, The Singapore Advertising Hall of Fame, Kancil Awards and Facebook Awards – a great way to keep in touch with the amazing thinking that’s happening around the world.
